The name of an old black and white movie?

I don't even know who's in it. It started out with some guys who had just come back from the war (WWI, I think) and they were celebrating in a bar and they meet a woman and she sits and drinks with them and they're all having fun but there's a kind of desperation to the celebration. I think one of the guys may have a war injury of some type. Then later on they go to a hotel room or the girl's apartment and they're hanging around there for a while. The girl is flirting with one of the guys, I think. I only saw the beginning of the movie some years ago on TV and I can't remember anything else about it. I realize this could be a lot of different movies, most likely, but if it rings a bell, please let me know. Even if you just want to guess at some movies it could be, so I could have some place to start looking. I'm just curious to see the rest of the movie now. Thanks! :)
