Does society have enough mechanisms in place to teach children right from wrong without religion?

Parents usually teach children that actions like stealing, lying and being cruel are wrong, no religion needed there. As children grow, they learn more complex morals like copyright infringement, slander, traffic infringements etc, again, no religion needed. And as far as ual morals go, human society has an inbuilt way of making sure children learn socially accepted ual behavior with no religion necessary, right? So religion is to morals what a bulldozer is to catching erflies, right; completely unnecessary and it causes too much damage?
