Why are some people so superficial?

I love this! :) yes I agree with you. so many people are hung up on appearances and stereotypes. I suppose I used to be like that myself. It's just people being ignorant, and I suppose the media doesn't help either. the world would be a better place if only people were allowed to be themselves. maybe once they're older they'll be more mature and not care so much. least that's what I've found. I'm 19 by the way, and when I was 16 people in my age group did seem to be like that a lot. I think it was when I was about 15 that I realised that kind of attitude was wrong. but now that I'm older and have left high school people are far less petty and superficial, although you still get the odd *rsehole. I just forever try to fight against steriotypes and society's conditioning, and I notice more and more the impact society's stereotyoing has had on me, but it's helped me to grow as a person. :)
